Contains everything you need (except knitting needles) to create a cozy pair of warm, durable Shetland wool socks. Socks are knit from Goat Knoll Shetland wool blend sock yarn which is 70% Shetland wool and 30% nylon. The Shetland wool is from the sheep on our farm and spun at an Oregon mill. The nylon has been added to provide additional strength to the sock so that it will handle the abrasion given to our beloved hand knit socks by our feet and shoes. Kit contains 150 yards of a natural brown blend (a blend of darker sheep) and 200 yards of a dyed color - which is an overdye of the natural brown yarn. Six color choices of yarn colors for the stripes. Socks are knit on size 2 (2.75mm) double pointed knitting needles. Pattern is designed so that even with all these lovely stripes, you will only have 4 ends to weave in when you're finished. Sock wil fit a size 7-8 lady's foot, however instructions are included (and extra yarn) to make it some larger if required.
